The Grazerhütte, located at 1.620 m., was built in 1928. The famous mountaineer and Dalai Lama-friend Heinrich Harrer led the Grazerhütte between 1933-1934. You know Heinrich Harrer as the main character in the movie ´7 years in Tibet´ with Brad Pitt.
In winter we offer you an idyllic winter lifestyle and our guests step right of our front door onto cross-country trails and winter hiking paths. The Tauplitzalm is famous for its amount of snow and it's generally possible to ski on natural snow all the way back down to the valley until Easter.
In summer the stunning six mountain lakes are surrounded by a diverse alpine flora and are easily accessible. The Tauplitzalm is ideal for those who suffer allergies.
In our cosy and original lodge we serve our guests warm and cold dishes and 'Almspecialities'. You can enjoy a cold beer from the barrel, excellent wines and ofcourse austrian schnapps.
We have 52 beds, half of which in double or family rooms for 4 -6 person and the other half in a dormitory of 12 or 14 beds. Furthermore we’re fully equipped with bathrooms for men and women with, free, hot showers, heating, a skiroom and a room for drying the shoes as well as a laundry- and dryingmachine. Our infrared cabin ensures ultimate relaxation after a strenuous day. We also offer free internet, books and games. For children there are toys and outside you will find our sand pit.
